Frequently Asked Questions

If you have never done any permanent makeup procedures before all your questions answered in this section.

Permanent makeup is cosmetic tattooing. The specialized techniques used for permanent cosmetics are often referred to as “micropigmentation”. Artist uses the digital device for permanent makeup procedures with a single needle that implants the pigment (ink) into the upper layer of the dermis.

POWDER EYEBROWS

What are Ombre powder brows?
Ombre powder brows is a shading technique that creates a powdery looking brow (Makeup effect). Ombre powder brows are soft at the fronts gradually getting darker toward the tails to create a soft powdery effect. They can look very bold and dark to begin with but heal much softer and around 40% lighter. This technique is suitable for all skin types and is a better option for those with oily skin or open pores as hairstrokes or microblading tend to blur and lose definition quickly on these skin types. We will advise you of the best-suited method for your skin type at your appointment.
I had microblading done a few years ago which has migrated to red/purple color. Can they be covered up with Powder technique?
It will depend on how much your brows faded. Usually, old microblading can be covered up with powder technique, but some clients will need more frequent touch ups as the pigment will fade faster. In order to determine whether you are a good candidate, we advise you to book a free consultation first.
What is the difference between microblading and Ombre Powder Brows?
Microblading involves using a handheld tool with a row or configuration of tiny needles that look like a blade. This is used to implant pigment into the skin in tiny hair-like strokes to create a "natural look". However, with frequent touch-ups, the strokes might blur and the color of brows will be uneven.

There are many skilled microbladers who produce outstanding work with this method but it requires tremendous skill and expertise to achieve good results. Unfortunately due to the increase in microblading courses many microblading artists have only undergone 1 or 2-day courses. These courses do not give them the level of skill to perform this art to its full potential.

The cons of this technique are that it might leave you with scars if the artist went too deep into the skin, or the color of the stroke will migrate from brown to pink or purple with the time.

Unlike Microblading, Powder brows technique is safer and more superficial (it doesn't cause scarring) and it is easier to maintain the same look you got after your initial session.

The artist uses machine method with a tiny single needle unlike microblading which involves using a hand held tool with a row / configuration of tiny needles (which looks like a blade).

This technique is suitable for all skin types and is a better option for those with oily skin or open pores.
Do I need to shave my existing eyebrows?
The artist works around your existing brow hair and, in fact, keeping your natural brow hair helps lend itself to a more natural final result. Eyebrow hair that falls outside of the designed shape can be removed. A trim may be necessary.
If I don't have any hair on my eyebrows, can I still do Ombre powder brows?
Yes, clients with alopecia or after chemotherapy can also benefit from this procedure, however, the result will not look as natural, as it looks on the brows with hair.

LIP BLUSH

What is a Lip blush procedure?
Lip blush is a semi-permanent technique that giving your lips a more defined and at the same time natural look. Lip blush helps to restore natural contour and shape, as well as enhances the color of lips.

During the procedure, artist uses a digital machine with single disposable needle to implant pigment. The procedure takes approximately 2 hours during which the artist will first draw a "sketch" to confirm the shape, choose the desired color tone and perform the procedure.

The healing time for Lip blush procedure is from 5 to 7 days during which lips at first will be brighter in color, and than peel off. The end result will be visible only after 30-45 days (depending on the age of the client and her metabolism).
What is the difference between Aquarelle technique and Lip blush?
There is no difference, moreover, it is one method of implanting pigment into the skin, some artists just call it "Aquarelle Technique", others "Lip blush".

Unlike the "Lipstick technique" when the color of lips is very saturated, this technique gives your lips transparent tint that enhances the color and shape of lips giving you natural effect.

CLASSIC EYELINER

Is it painful?
Eyes are one of the most painless procedures in permanent makeup. You might experience some discomfort or tickling during the procedure, but nothing beyond that. Most of the clients say that they felt comfortable and relaxed during the procedure.
Will the color turn blue after a few months?
The pigments we use do not migrate to any other colors, they just fade with the time.
I wear lash extensions. Can I get my permanent eyeliner done?
If you are planning to have any permanent makeup procedure on your eyes - eyeliner or lash enhancement, it is very important to remove all lash extension at least 2-3 days prior to the procedure. Lash extensions will cause more sensitivity (the procedure will be painful), swelling and the artist might just miss some spots while tattooing just because you decided that "they are almost all fallen off" or you "didn't have time to remove them". Lash extensions should be removed only by your lash artist.

You can have your lash extensions back in 2-3 weeks after the procedure.
If I change my mind and want to get rid of eyeliner?
You cannot remove tattoo across the lash line, you can only remove the wing of the liner. So it is always better to start with the lash line enhancement first and add more thickness and wings during a refresh procedure.
Does permanent eyeliner procedure damage the lashes? Will they stop growing?
Permanent makeup does not damage the lashes, it is completely safe for the lash growth.
Will my eyes be swelled after the procedure?
There might be mild swelling right after the procedure and the next morning, so we advise you to consult with your doctor and take antihistamines at night if you are prone to swelling.
Can you cover up an old blue eyeliner?
Yes, we can cover it up and change or correct the shape of the eyeliner.
I am using one of the new products that promote eyelash growth. Can I use it if I have eyeliner?
You must discontinue to use any lash growth serum at least 3 months prior to the procedure. All products that promote lash growth will make your eyelids too fragile and vascular for cosmetic tattooing. As a result, your eyelids will be more sensitive during the procedure, might bleed, and bruise.

It is recommended that you refrain from using the product for about 30 days or until you are sure that the procedure area is completely healed. There is no data that shows if these products influence premature fading of permanent eyeliner.

EYELASH ENHANCEMENT

Lash enhancement or Eyeliner?
During eyelash enhancement procedure lash line is filled from the first lash till the last one and the thickness depends on the thickness of your lash line (how many rows of lashes do you have.

Lash enhancement creates the illusion of thicker, darker and fuller lashes. It can be done on your top or lower lash line, or both and add instant definition to your eyes.

Eyeliner is just a thicker eyelash enhancement plus a wing. I would recommend it only to those ladies who are drawing eyeliner on a daily basis. The thickness and style of eyeliner depend on the client’s preferences and eye shape.
Does permanent lash enhancement procedure damage the lashes? Will they stop growing?
Permanent makeup does not damage the lashes, it is completely safe for the lash growth.
If I change my mind and want to get rid of lash enhancement?
You cannot remove tattoo across the lash line, you can only remove the wing of the liner. So it is always better to start with the lash line enhancement first and add more thickness and wings during a refresh procedure.
Can I do lash enhancement with my contact lenses on?
If you wear contacts, you need to take them out before the procedure. You should also be prepared not to wear them for a week after, as your eyes may be a little swollen or tender following the procedure.
Can I wear mascara after once procedure is done?
The one thing you can’t do after the procedure for the next 7-10 days is to wear mascara (which is pretty much full of bacteria after the first use) or apply eyeshadows.

LOWER EYELINER

Is lower eyeliner more painful than the upper eyelid eyeliner?
Lower eyeliner is one of the most painless procedures in permanent makeup. You might experience some discomfort or tickling during the procedure, but nothing beyond that. Most of the clients say that they felt comfortable and relaxed during the procedure.
